From 25 to 30 March, Murmansk will host the Taste of the Arctic gastronomic festival. It is included in the cultural programme of the International Arctic Forum "Arctic: Territory of Dialogue" (IAF), which will be held on 26–27 March under the motto "Live in the North!" The Forum is organised by the Roscongress Foundation with the support of the Russian Government.

A joint team of restaurateurs and chefs from the constituent entities of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation will present a menu of regional authentic cuisine, which uses products from the northern seas and local producers.

"This festival will be special, as we are expanding the geography of the participants in the gastronomic space. Entrepreneurs from the Murmansk and Arkhangelsk regions, the Nenets and Chukotka Autonomous Okrugs, the Komi Republic, the Republic of Karelia, the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug - Yugra, and the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) have already confirmed their participation. "The festival menu will include both favorite positions with hits of Arctic cuisine festivals, and absolute novelties," noted Deputy Governor - Minister of Arctic Development and Economy of the Murmansk Region Svetlana Panfilova.

About 15 catering enterprises from the regions of the Arctic zone will take part in the gastronomic festival, in addition, a souvenir fair of the Murmansk Region and an ice bar "Try the North to Taste" will be opened.

"The Murmansk Region gave Russia such a direction as Arctic cuisine. We have come a long way from complete obscurity to commercial success, thanks to powerful information support with the participation of local businesses and authorities," emphasized the author-methodologist and head of the federal project "Gastronomic Map of Russia", curator of the gastronomic festival "Taste of the Arctic" Ekaterina Shapovalova.

As part of the festival, the office of the Tourist Information Center of the Murmansk Region will be open, where residents and guests of the city will be able to learn about popular tourist programs and purchase a polar explorer's passport. The festival will feature Arctic Post, where everyone can send exclusive memorable postcards to their loved ones.

Festival guests will enjoy entertainment and music programs, and prize draws. On March 25, the venue on Vorovskogo Street will be open from 15:00 to 21:00, and from 26 to 30 March from 11:00 to 21:00.

The festival is organized by the Murmansk Region Government together with the federal project "Gastronomic Map of Russia". The project coordinator is ANO "Event51".

The gastronomic festival "Taste of the Arctic" has been held since 2018. The event is held in a one-hand-food format, it is aimed at drawing attention to local cuisine, food products of regional producers and wild plants of the Arctic.

Every year, the festival receives awards at the federal level, including the Grand Prix of the National Public Relations Award "Silver Archer" - North-West (2023), the Grand Prix of the National Award in Event Tourism Russian Event Awards (2022), the top 17 best summer gastronomic events (2022) and many others.

The 6th International Arctic Forum "Arctic: Territory of Dialogue" is a key platform for discussing topical issues of the socio-economic development of the Arctic territories, the development of multi-level multilateral mechanisms for the joint disclosure and effective development of the powerful resource potential of the Arctic region.
