Murmansk Region Launches New Programs to Attract Specialists and Students
On behalf of the Governor of the Murmansk Region Andrey Chibis, as part of the implementation of the updated strategic plan "Living in the North", two new initiatives will be launched on February 15: the regional referral program "Arctic Lighthouse" and the ambassador program "I'll be back with friends". Their goal is to attract young professionals and students to the region and create additional opportunities for professional growth in the North.
The Arctic Lighthouse program is aimed at involving residents of the Murmansk region in the process of attracting young specialists aged 18 to 35. Referrers will be able to tell their friends, relatives and colleagues from other regions about employment opportunities in the Arctic and receive a reward. To do this, you need to register on a special tab of the portal "Our North" and receive a personal referral code, which invited participants indicate when submitting an application on the website of the project "Course to the North" . For each invitee who moves, registers and finds employment in the region, the referrer will receive 15 thousand rubles, and the first 10 people who successfully attract participants will receive an increased reward - 20 thousand rubles for each new northerner.
Details and rules of participation are published in the official group of the project "Course to the North" in the social network "VKontakte", as well as on the tab of the portal "Our North", dedicated to the referral program.
The "Back with Friends" ambassador program is aimed at students who study outside the Murmansk region and are ready to share information about the region with their classmates. The selection of participants will begin on February 15, ambassadors will receive the official status of representatives of the region, the opportunity to participate in career guidance events, as well as special information materials and access to the ambassador community. At the end of the year, 30 of the most successful participants in the program will be able to take part in the final gala event in the Murmansk region, where the most active ambassadors will be awarded. More information about the program can be found on the "Young Arctic" portal .
The "Course to the North" project, launched in May 2023 at the initiative of the Governor of the Murmansk Region, provides comprehensive support for relocation and employment, from finding a vacancy to fully adapting to a new location. Work to attract new specialists continues: the project team is currently actively cooperating with universities, holding career guidance meetings in the regions and developing support programs for specialists who have decided to connect their lives with the Arctic.
