Governor Andrey Chibis: Murmansk Region is ready to present unique offers for the summer tourist season
The Kola Arctic traditionally attracts tourists from all over the country. Today, the regional government told northerners and guests of the Murmansk region about the new summer tourist season.
“The number of guests coming to us is growing every year. I have already said that in 2024 a new record was set - 761 thousand people visited the Murmansk region! The growth of tourist flow is an additional incentive for the creation of new infrastructure and the development of small and medium-sized businesses,” said Governor Andrei Chibis.
In 2025, work will continue to improve transport links with key cities of Russia, including direct flights from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg and a number of other large cities, which will increase the accessibility of the region and help attract more guests to the Arctic. Some of these routes are subsidized.
“The Murmansk region is recognized as a leader in autotourism, having received the Grand Prix of the All-Russian award “Regions of Tourism and Hospitality”. Thanks to the “Live in the North!” plan, The flagship auto route "From Bely to Barents" is developing, and new infrastructure facilities for auto travelers are appearing: gas stations, rest areas and cafes with Arctic cuisine. The number of seasonal activities is growing. In the summer of 2025, we will present new tourist products, including unique excursions, such as a car tour to Dalniye Zelentsy, boat trips along the Kola Bay and excursions with an exit to the open sea from Murmansk," the head of the region said.
Event tourism is gaining popularity: the calendar "51 events of the Murmansk region" on the portal of the Tourist Information Center contains all the dates and formats of events from gastronomy to sports and culture for the spring-summer of 2025.
Work is constantly underway to improve the quality of tourist services and certification of guides. Today, more than 150 certified specialists work in the Murmansk region.
Anastasia Ivanova, General Director of the ANO "Tourist Information Center of the Murmansk Region", spoke in more detail about the offers of the summer season. Following the report, Governor Andrei Chibis instructed to step up efforts to inform citizens about polar tourism products and beyond the region.
