SPIEF-2025: Governor Andrei Chibis commented on the speech of Russian President Vladimir Putin at the plenary session
Murmansk Region Governor Andrey Chibis commented on the speech of Russian President Vladimir Putin at the plenary session, which became a key element of the business program of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
Thus, the President announced the transfer of the country's entire transport system to modern digital platform solutions.
According to him, we are talking about creating a national digital transport and logistics platform. It will not only improve the efficiency of domestic logistics, but will also facilitate the development of international routes passing through Russia. Including the trans-Arctic transport corridor connecting St. Petersburg, Murmansk, and Vladivostok.
"One of the priorities for the country today is the creation of a national digital transport and logistics platform. This is important for the efficient operation of the Transarctic Transport Corridor, the development of which means the development of the entire Murmansk Region. We discussed how to make icebreaker assistance profitable at one of the sessions of the SPIEF-2025. Work in this direction is actively carried out within the framework of the State Council Commission "Northern Sea Route and the Arctic". One of the priority tasks is to increase the capacity of the Murmansk transport hub by three times, in accordance with the President's instructions," commented Murmansk Region Governor Andrei Chibis.
In his speech, Vladimir Putin noted that Russia ranks first in Europe in terms of economic volume, and that Russia’s GDP has grown by more than 4% annually over the past two years, and these growth rates are higher than the world average.
"Over the past two years, agriculture, industry as a whole, the construction complex, logistics, services, finance and the IT industry, that is, almost all key, system-forming sectors of the domestic economy, have distinguished themselves with a plus sign. Thanks to the work of tens of thousands of enterprises and companies, their teams, managers, thanks to the initiative and work of millions of entrepreneurs, our economy is not just developing confidently, but is becoming more qualitative, complex and multifaceted," the head of state said.
Governor Andrei Chibis emphasized that the Murmansk Region confidently holds the lead in the Arctic, both in terms of investment volumes and the number of residents.
"This work has been underway for 6 years now as part of the "Live in the North!" plan. The International Arctic Forum and the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum have confirmed that our decisions on developing a comfortable life and sustainable economy in the Arctic fully coincide with national goals and can even become an important part of the development of the entire country "Live in Russia!", which was also discussed at the SPIEF. This initiative is a recognition of the contribution of each resident of the Murmansk Region," Andrei Chibis emphasized.
