The Murmansk Region delegation took part in the third international business forum "ROSTKI: Russia and China - mutually beneficial cooperation" in Tatarstan
The third international business forum "ROSTKI: Russia and China - mutually beneficial cooperation" was held on August 18-19 in Kazan. The exhibition was attended by 11 official delegations from 7 provinces of China, as well as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China. Chinese business was represented by 170 large corporations. Within the framework of the forum, the participants discussed issues of strengthening interaction and deepening interregional cooperation between the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China.
The Murmansk Region, as a support port of the trans-Arctic transport corridor and the gateway to the Northern Sea Route, aims to form long-term partnerships with Chinese companies in various areas - from cargo logistics to the implementation of large projects.
As part of the session on the prospects of Russian-Chinese industrial cooperation in the field of shipbuilding and ship repair, Deputy Minister of Arctic Development and Economy of the Murmansk Region Dmitry Titarenko made a report "Murmansk Region - a support port of the Northern Sea Route", in which he presented investment plans for the region's development, support mechanisms, and possible areas of cooperation with Chinese partners.
"We continue to strive to develop our competitive advantages and are pleased to invite all interested partners to invest in the Murmansk Region and the Arctic. We are ready to interact and discuss the possible participation of partners in the implementation of various projects, from the creation of new terminals and service infrastructure to the creation of production facilities in the promising area of the Northern Sea Route," said Deputy Minister Dmitry Titarenko.
Also, as part of the forum, First Deputy General Director of the Murmansk Region Development Corporation Elena Nesterovich highlighted promising areas of the region's development, its competitive advantages and opportunities for international cooperation.
"The Murmansk Region offers unique opportunities for business thanks to two super-preferential regimes - the advanced development territory "Capital of the Arctic" and the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation. Of particular appeal to foreign investors is the possibility of using the free customs zone procedure. Residents can freely import the equipment necessary for work into the territory of their site without paying customs duties," noted Elena Nesterovich, First Deputy General Director of the Corporation.
In addition, the delegation of the Murmansk Region held a number of meetings with Chinese companies, during which they discussed areas of cooperation.
