foresight session

A foresight session on developing an international tourism product for the Murmansk Region, organized by the ANO "Center of Competence in Tourism and Hospitality", was held in the regional center.

Following a week-long training for specialists in the region's tourism industry, the Murmansk Region team members began developing a tourism product in the context of active, ecological, automobile and business tourism, focused on the markets of China, Taiwan, Thailand and Iran, in a brainstorming format.

The Kola Arctic traditionally attracts tourists, including foreign ones, due to its logistical accessibility, the opportunity to see the northern lights, unique excursions and Arctic landscapes. Leading Russian and foreign experts from the ANO "Center of Competence in Tourism and Hospitality" spoke about how to ensure a stable international tourist flow, how to work with foreign guests with different cultures and mentalities.

"The event turned out to be extremely productive: we heard many interesting ideas, different points of view, and, most importantly, three teams developed three separate tourism products in just three hours, aimed at different international markets. I believe that it is extremely important for the tourism industry of the Murmansk Region to hold such intensive and effective events regularly. We will be able to directly apply the ideas and concepts for presenting tours and tourism products received at the session in our work with the specified markets. Of particular interest was the information about local characteristics and preferences of tourists from different countries, which must be taken into account when adapting tourism products to the interests of different ethnic groups," said Viktor Kutuzov, a foresight participant and CEO of the tour operator company Kutuzov-na-Murmane.

Particularly valuable was the participation of international experts who shared their experience and vision of trends in the target markets.

"I am confident that the ideas and concepts we have developed will allow us to create a popular and competitive tourism product that will attract new tourists to the Murmansk Region," said Marina Morozova, General Director of the ANO "Tourism and Hospitality Competence Center."

The event also saw the signing of a cooperation agreement between the ANO "Tourism and Hospitality Competence Center" and the ANO "Tourism Information Center of the Murmansk Region," which was an important step in establishing long-term cooperation and sharing experience to develop the regional tourism industry.
