Arctic enterprises represent the Murmansk region at the international exhibition Seafood Expo Russia
The Seafood Expo Russia exhibition and forum, the main platform for the Russian fishing industry of international significance, is taking place in St. Petersburg. The event annually brings together representatives of the entire fisheries sector.
The Murmansk Region has traditionally held a leading position in the country's fishing industry, accounting for one in eleven tonnes of fish caught in Russia. Cod, haddock, halibut, and other bottom-dwelling species are the main fisheries caught in the Barents Sea.
Both large enterprises and small and medium-sized businesses represent the Kola Arctic at the main exhibition of the Russian fishing industry. Among the flagship companies are the Murmansk Sea Fishing Port, Inarktika, Norebo, and Murman LLC.
The Murmansk Region Export Support Center plays a significant role in promoting Arctic SMEs. The Center provides a wide range of services and support to regions at virtually every stage of the export transaction, as well as in organizing participation in international events. Most services are provided as part of the national project "International Cooperation and Export." For example, the Center has prepared a collective stand for the Murmansk Region at the exhibition, where seven small and medium-sized businesses will showcase their capabilities.
JSC Murmansk Package Plant is a full-cycle enterprise established in 1932, producing cardboard containers, paper bags, and cans for the fishing industry. BLK-Fish LLC has been farming sturgeon, sterlet, and rainbow trout in the Arctic for over 20 years, offering consumers red and black caviar, as well as fresh fish. JSC Nord-West F.K. is a full-cycle enterprise since 1989, equipped with its own fishing vessels and holding the MSC environmental certificate. Park LLC has been harvesting and processing aquatic bioresources at its own factories since 2019, producing cod and haddock fillets, and clipfish. The company is listed in international registers for export to the EU, Nigeria, Brazil, and China. The Shtil cannery in Olenegorsk has been producing canned fish since 2004, and in 2026, it expanded its product range and launched a dried and smoked product line. Engineering and Technical Firm LLC offers IT solutions for accounting and labeling fish products in accordance with the requirements of the Chestny Znak State Information System (GIS MT). SPK RK Severnaya Zvezda, founded in 1926 in the village of Belokamenka, has been exporting products since 2007 and is one of the oldest fishing companies in the region.
Participation in Seafood Expo Russia allows Arctic companies to showcase the potential of the Murmansk Region, establish new business contacts, and expand export routes—from aquaculture and fish products to packaging and digital technologies for the industry.
