It was decided to update the Arctic zone development strategy. This order was given by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin following the strategic session on Arctic development issues,   Sever-Press writes .

"By May 20, 2025, the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East has been instructed to prepare proposals to update the development strategy for the Russian Arctic zone," the statement said. Another instruction concerns the fleet. By June 1, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will develop a program for the repair of ships used in the Arctic.

Russia will also work on regulating at the legislative level the issue of resettling citizens who live in almost empty apartment buildings. Proposals are expected from the Ministry of Construction and the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East by May 20, 2025.

In Russia, experts from the Arctic regions have advocated recognizing the polar bear's entry into populated areas as an emergency. Thanks to this measure, the authorities will be able to quickly respond to such situations and attract the necessary resources.
