An updated regional development strategy was presented in Murmansk
Murmansk Region Governor Andrey Chibis presented the results of the work to update the strategic plan "Live in the North!" until 2030.
The head of the regional center administration, Yuri Serdechkin, took part in the regional forum.
- It is important that the sections included in the strategic plan were formulated based on the national goals outlined by Russian President Vladimir Putin. The position of the head of state is extremely clear and understandable - Russia "will grow" with the Arctic and northern territories in the coming decades. The President pays special attention to the development of the Arctic and the Murmansk Region, which means there is no doubt that together we will achieve our goals, - said Andrey Chibis, opening the "Live in the North!" forum.
According to the Decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the national goals include: preserving the population, health and well-being of people; opportunities for self-realization and development of talents; a comfortable and safe living environment; decent, effective work and successful entrepreneurship; digital transformation.
The updated development strategy for the Murmansk Region was formed by the northerners themselves: they filled out questionnaires on the Nash Sever website and left their ideas at stationary points for receiving proposals in public places in all municipalities of the region. More than 30 territorial and industry strategic sessions were also held: their participants made about 4 thousand proposals. In total, 25 thousand northerners took part in the update of the strategic plan, who made more than 72 thousand proposals.
In the coming years, the Murmansk Region will face a large-scale program for the construction of new and modernization of existing housing, including the repair of entrances, replacement of elevators and the resettlement of emergency housing. Recent years can be called a revival of housing construction in the region. Thus, since the end of 2023, 2 residential buildings have already been commissioned in Murmansk - on Bredova and Bondarnaya streets. This year, it is planned to commission three more houses in the hero city. An
equally important area will be the improvement of settlements in the Kola Arctic.
— As for the urban environment, the program for the next five years is to make the Murmansk Region the most well-maintained region in the Arctic. This includes road renovation, reconstruction of courtyard areas, creation of comfortable public recreation areas, as well as comprehensive repairs of apartment buildings in the Arctic, which the President supported during a meeting with the governor, — noted Yuri Serdechkin.
