"The main objective of the Governor's plan "Living in the North" is to attract residents to our region. This objective consists of two parts. The first is, of course, the development of the economy, so that new projects and jobs are created that would meet modern technological standards, where specialists will have the opportunity to realize their potential. The second is the development of the quality of life in the North. All these tasks are solved within the framework of new projects that are included in the master plans for the development of agglomerations of the Murmansk Region. The task of our economic block is the formation of new investment projects and growth points. I would like to thank all the participants of our meeting and wish you good luck in any area that you like. You have a lot of opportunities ahead of you, go for it," the Deputy Governor emphasized.

During the conversation, the students talked about the activities of construction teams, asked questions of interest regarding infrastructure solutions for the development of the urban environment, support for indigenous peoples of the North, the impact of industrial companies on the environmental situation, and others.

"We have worked in many places, for example, we participated in the construction of Rosatom facilities, but we went to the Murmansk Region for the first time because we were interested in the construction. The Lavna port is a large facility, and we decided to come here as soon as we were invited. Some work on the line, they are mainly either equipment or specialists. I am a specialist, I travel around the city, receive structures and bring them to the warehouse," shared Vladislav Pushkarev, a student at the Moscow State University of Civil Engineering.

During the conversation, the children were especially interested in the nuances of the work of the "Course to the North" program, launched in 2023, to attract promising personnel to the region. Over the year and a half of the project's existence, 207 specialists have moved to our region. In order to dispel possible fears, teacher Anastasia Starikova, one of the first participants in the "Course to the North", shared her personal experience of moving to the Murmansk Region with the students, as well as engineers of the Kola NPP Dmitry Roppert and Anna Yakobi, who came to live in the city of Polyarnye Zori from Altai this year.

"They say that the North is the homeland of the brave. But I believe that the North is open to all brave souls who are ready for change. So don't be afraid of anything," Anastasia Starikova advised the children.
