Governor Andrey Chibis at SPIEF-2024: The Republic of Kazakhstan has shown interest in our logistics capabilities and port infrastructure
On June 6, a working meeting between Murmansk Region Governor Andrey Chibis and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Russian Federation Dauren Abayev was held at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
The parties discussed interaction and outlined new tasks in the field of cooperation.
“In 2023, the trade turnover of the Murmansk Region with Kazakhstan increased more than 4 times compared to the previous year. And we definitely have room to grow. The Republic of Kazakhstan has shown interest in our logistics capabilities and port infrastructure. We will work in this direction,” Governor Andrey Chibis emphasized.
Murmansk Region exports fish and seafood to Kazakhstan. Residents of the republic actively come to the region to implement large projects, young people enter polar universities and colleges. Promising areas also include the development of scientific research cooperation, including student exchange; cooperation in education and advanced training; joint cultural, sports and educational events; tourism.
