Murmansk Region climbed 17 positions in the Agency for Strategic Initiatives quality of life rating
Today in Moscow, a meeting of the Supervisory Board of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives was held under the chairmanship of the President of the Russian Federation, at which the annual quality of life rating was announced.
According to the results of 2023, 48 regions improved their results, including the Murmansk Region. The region improved its result by 17 positions, moving up from 41st to 24th place.
"All our plans have a most important dimension - the well-being of people. We think it would be right if the assessment of the actions of the Russian Government and the regions were the National Quality of Life Rating, which is compiled annually by the ASI," said Vladimir Putin.
The rating contains regional statistics in the areas of construction and housing and communal services, safety, ecology, healthcare, education, social protection and the labor market, the results of sociological surveys and indicators collected using geoanalytics tools.
In 2023, for 52 indicators in the Murmansk region, the dynamics of changes were higher than the Russian average.
The region received high marks and ensured improvement of quality of life indicators compared to 2022 in the following areas:
- high social orientation of budget expenditures and growth of per capita government spending on social protection of the population;
- growth of the level of awareness of the population about social services;
- growth of real per capita cash income of the population;
- reduction in the proportion of the poor population;
- reduction in the average duration of job search;
- reduction in the unemployment rate
; - growth of the employment rate of the population;
- high availability of preschool education;
- increase in the proportion of schoolchildren studying in the first shift;
- high availability of additional education for children;
- growth in the assessment of success in All-Russian school Olympiads;
- increase in the proportion of citizens systematically involved in physical education and sports;
- high assessment of the amenities of housing;
- increase in the number of catering facilities per 100 thousand people;
- high walking distance to grocery stores.
The rating provides a comprehensive view of the quality of the living environment in the region, and an analysis of its results allows us to identify regions that are potential carriers of best practices for replication throughout the country.
