The project for gasification of the Murmansk region was presented at the exhibition and forum "Russia" at VDNKh in Moscow. The decision to gasify the region received the support of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin last summer. This decision envisages the construction of a main gas pipeline from Volkhov to Murmansk with a total length of about 1.3 thousand km and the creation of more than 20 thousand jobs, and also made it possible to launch the construction of a marine transshipment complex for liquefied natural gas.
In addition, to connect the plant to the power grid, Rosseti will build a power transmission line with a total length of 360 km and a new main substation in the Murmansk region.
As part of the gasification of the region, construction of two new power units of the Kola NPP-2 will begin.
