CITIC

Today, the Murmansk Region Governor is working in Beijing. He held a working meeting with Vice President Liang Jie and Finance Manager Cheng Yanfan of CITIC Construction, a large and reputable company implementing large-scale infrastructure projects worldwide.

The parties discussed prospects for cooperation and areas that could serve as the basis for the company's entry into the Russian market.

"I also spoke about the opportunities offered by the Arctic and, of course, our Murmansk port—a key, year-round, deepest, and ice-free port in the Arctic. It has direct access to the World Ocean, without passing through international straits. This means no risks from unfriendly countries and complete security for trade and transit. We also discussed the possibility of creating Russia's first general-purpose bonded port warehouse to serve the needs of Chinese exporters. Its construction will expedite the delivery of goods, reduce logistics and storage costs, and make the port of Murmansk even more attractive for international container shipping," Andrey Chibis commented on the meeting.

The governor noted that partners from China have shown great interest in the project, and joint work will continue.
